Vienna, Virginia · Personal injury
After a crash, a fall, or a medical mistake, it's hard to know what to do next. We help you find the way. We represent injured people across Virginia and Maryland in car accident, slip and fall, and medical malpractice cases, and we answer in your language.
Virginia injury law
Virginia is stricter on injured people than most states. These rules are why it pays to talk to a lawyer early.
Va. Code § 8.01-243(A)
Most personal injury lawsuits in Virginia must be filed within two years of the injury. Miss the deadline and the claim is usually gone for good.
Contributory negligence
Virginia is one of the few places where an injured person who is even slightly at fault can be barred from recovering. Insurers know this and use it.
Va. Code § 8.01-20.1
A medical malpractice case generally needs a qualified expert to certify the claim has merit. That work has to start well before the deadline.
General information only, not legal advice. Exceptions apply. Maryland has its own deadlines and rules. Talk to a lawyer about your specific situation.
Cases we handle
Rear-end crashes, intersection collisions, rideshare and uninsured-driver claims.
Injuries on someone else's property from wet floors, broken stairs, ice, or poor lighting.

Why Beacon
When you call, you talk to the people working on your case, not a call center. We explain where things stand in plain language, and we return calls.
How it works
Tell us what happened. We'll say honestly whether we think you have a case.
We gather police reports, photos, witness statements, and medical records.
We deal with the adjusters so you can focus on getting better.
We push for a fair settlement, and prepare to file suit if the offer isn't fair.
Common questions
Injury cases are usually handled on a contingency fee, which means the attorney's fee is a percentage of what we recover. If there's no recovery, there's no attorney's fee. You may still be responsible for case costs, such as filing fees and records; we'll explain all of this in writing before you sign.
You should report the accident to your own insurer, but be careful about giving a recorded statement to the other side's insurer before you talk to a lawyer. What you say can be used to argue you were partly at fault.
Yes. Some injuries, like concussions and soft-tissue damage, don't show up right away. Seeing a doctor protects your health and creates a record that connects your injury to the accident.
It depends on how serious the injuries are and whether the insurer makes a fair offer. Many cases settle within months after treatment ends; cases that go to court take longer.
